Enhancing Cognitive Resilience
Understanding the psychological stress experienced in the military and its impact can allow for more insight into how to increase cognitive resilience. Despite this, there are limits to cognitive resilience that are bounded by two key factors: stress is inescapable, and mental performance is not always immune to the effects of stress. Even so, cognitive resilience can be increased, and there are differences in how individuals respond to stress. Mindfulness-based techniques have been prevalent among several methods to improve cognitive resilience in military personnel. They have been proven to boost performance and build cognitive resilience to the effects of mental fatigue.
