Euglena

Euglena is a genus of non-pathogenic euglenozoans. Its cells are characterized by having two flagella, a stigma (eyespot) to detect light, chloroplasts for conducting photosynthesis, and a pellicle composed of protein bands that supports the cell membrane and maintains cell shape.
