Evaluating a Business Decision

A baker is deciding how to use a spare oven for the day. They calculate that they can use the oven to bake a batch of specialty cakes. The ingredients will cost $50, and they expect to sell the cakes for a total of $150. Based on this, the baker concludes they will make a $100 profit and decides to bake the cakes. However, another local business had offered to rent the same oven for the day for a fee of $120.

Evaluate the baker's decision to bake the cakes instead of renting out the oven. From a purely economic standpoint, was this the most profitable choice? Justify your conclusion.
