Evaluating a Farmer's Work-Leisure Choice

A self-sufficient farmer allocates 24 hours per day between free time and working in their fields. Currently, the farmer works 8 hours a day, leaving 16 hours for free time, and produces 64 bushels of grain. If the farmer were to work one additional hour (a total of 9 hours), the grain production would increase to 70 bushels. At the current situation of 16 hours of free time, the farmer's personal valuation is such that they would be willing to give up a maximum of 4 bushels of grain to gain one additional hour of free time.

Based on this information, evaluate the farmer's current allocation of time. Should the farmer work more, work less, or maintain their current schedule to increase their overall satisfaction? Justify your recommendation by comparing the trade-off the farmer is willing to make with the trade-off the farmer is able to make.
