Short Answer

Evaluating Economic Models

An economic analysis of a proposed government program to supplement employee wages concludes that the program will significantly boost employment. The analysis, however, makes an explicit assumption that the funds for the program are raised in a way that does not affect any other part of the economy. Explain why this assumption might lead to an overestimation of the program's positive impact on employment.
