Short Answer

Evaluating Production Efficiency

A farmer and a landowner agree on a contract where the farmer works 10 hours a day to produce 90 units of grain. The farmer keeps 45 units and the landowner receives 45 units. It is also known that if the farmer worked 8 hours a day, they could produce a total of 100 units of grain. Based on this information, explain why the initial 10-hour workday contract is considered an inefficient allocation.
