Evaluating the Nature of Tangible Assets

An economist makes the following claim: 'Any asset you can physically touch is a form of physical wealth, and as such, its value will inevitably decline over time due to use or obsolescence.' Critically evaluate this statement. In your response, compare a standard five-year-old office computer with a rare, well-preserved antique coin. Explain which of these two assets more accurately illustrates the defining characteristics of physical wealth and discuss why the economist's claim may be considered an oversimplification.
