Example

Example: Graphing the Function f(x)=xf(x) = -|x|

To graph the function f(x)=xf(x) = -|x|, we select a range of xx-values to determine their corresponding yy-values. Substituting xx-values such as 3-3, 2-2, 1-1, 00, 11, 22, and 33 into the function yields the yy-values 3-3, 2-2, 1-1, 00, 1-1, 2-2, and 3-3. Plotting these ordered pairs on a coordinate plane and connecting them produces a downward-opening V-shaped graph.
