Example of a Bell Curve: Height of U.S. Women

A bell curve can illustrate the distribution of heights among U.S. women. In a graph representing this, the horizontal axis (x-axis) shows height, while the vertical axis (y-axis) indicates frequency. The curve reaches its highest point at the average height, showing that most women are of average height. The curve then slopes downward on both sides, indicating that progressively fewer women are found at the extremely short or tall ends of the height spectrum.
