Example of Negative Correlation: Television and Exam Grades

An example of a negative correlation can be seen in the relationship between the number of hours spent watching television the week before an exam and the resulting exam grade. This relationship is illustrated by the observation that students who watch more television tend to perform more poorly on their exams, as an increase in one variable is associated with a decrease in the other.
