Example of Neuroconstructivism: Temperament and Environment

An illustration of neuroconstructivism can be seen in a child with a genetic predisposition for a challenging temperament. If raised in a supportive social environment where parents encourage optimal self-expression, the child's brain can form enhanced neural connections shaped by these positive experiences. This neural development, in turn, influences the brain's communication with the body, potentially leading to better physiological regulation. Furthermore, this process can attenuate the expression of the original genetic temperament and guide the child to seek out similar supportive social settings.
