Example of Taste Aversion: Cotton Candy
An example of taste aversion involves a person who eats a large amount of cotton candy at a carnival and later becomes ill. The overconsumption of cotton candy is the unconditioned stimulus (UCS) leading to sickness (UCR). Subsequently, the sugary flavor becomes a conditioned stimulus (CS). When the person tastes candy again, they feel nauseous (CR), demonstrating a learned aversion to that taste.
