Short Answer

Explaining Experimental Outcomes

Two separate 10-round group experiments were conducted. In both, participants could contribute money to a shared pot, which was then multiplied and distributed equally. In Experiment A, contributions started moderately high but decreased steadily, ending near zero. In Experiment B, contributions also started moderately high, dipped slightly, but then rose and remained high for the last several rounds. What single rule difference between the two experiments most likely explains this dramatic divergence in outcomes? Explain the behavioral incentive this rule creates.
