Short Answer

Explaining Production Bottlenecks

A bakery has a single large oven (a fixed input). When the owner hires a second baker, the total number of loaves produced per hour more than doubles. However, when they hire a fifth baker, the total number of loaves produced per hour increases, but only by a small amount. Explain in economic terms why the fifth baker adds less to the total output than the second baker did.
