Facilitated Diffusion
Facilitated diffusion is a transport process utilized by molecules that cannot cross the membrane bilayer directly via simple diffusion, such as large or charged molecules. In this process, specialized membrane structures, including carriers and channels, ferry these molecules across the plasma membrane.
