Simple Diffusion
Simple diffusion is a form of passive transport where molecules move directly across the plasma membrane bilayer from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration, following the concentration gradient. Small, uncharged molecules, such as carbon dioxide, can easily cross the membrane using this mechanism.
