Fairness of an Agreement

Two siblings are tasked with dividing a single, large dessert. The older sibling tells the younger one, "We can split this exactly in half, or I will eat the whole thing myself." The younger sibling, fearing they will get nothing, agrees to the 50-50 split. Based on the principles of fair agreements, is this arrangement truly fair? Explain your reasoning.
