Fear of coercion in organ donations leads to repugnance

The repugnance in organ donations are most likely due to the fear of coercion where if organs were able to be sold, it would allow the poor to be exploited. (However, in a study done by Ghods and Savaj (2006) it was shown that monetary compensation for kidney donations in Iran actually decreased the coercion of unpaid donors.)
