Figure 7.3 presents the estimated demand curve for Apple Cinnamon Cheerios. It graphically represents how the quantity of cereal consumers are willing to buy changes with the price per pound. The curve is based on a 1996 study by Jerry Hausman that analyzed weekly sales data. As an example, the figure illustrates that a price of $3 per pound corresponds to a demand of 25,000 pounds in a typical city.
