Finding the Y-Intercept of a Function

For any mathematical function ff, a y-intercept occurs where the graph of the function intersects the vertical y-axis. Because every point situated directly on the y-axis possesses an x-coordinate of exactly zero (x=0x = 0), the y-intercept can be determined algebraically by substituting zero for xx. Therefore, to find the y-intercept of a function, one must evaluate f(0)f(0).
