Findings from a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis on the Effect of Hydroxychloroquine With or Without Azithromycin on the Mortality of COVID-19 Patients
The systematic review and meta-analysis included 29 articles that assessed the differences in mortality between hospitalized COVID-19 patients taking hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine with or without azithromycin and COVID-19 patients receiving standard care.
Being treated with hydroxychlorquine did not significantly lower mortality, but being treated with a combination of both hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin was associated with significantly increased mortality.
