Fixed Exchange Rate of the CFA Franc

The CFA franc, used by a union of 14 African nations, operates under a hard peg system, meaning its external value is not flexible. Historically, it was fixed against the French franc. Since the euro's introduction in 1999, the CFA franc has been rigidly pegged to it at a rate of 655.957 per euro.
