Flying Shuttle

A device invented by John Kay in 1733 that revolutionized the textile industry. It was designed to be used with a loom and allowed a weaver to produce much wider cloth, at a much faster rate than before. This invention was a major factor in the increase of textile production during the Industrial Revolution.
