Forebrain
The forebrain is the largest part of the brain and contains the two hemispheres of the cerebral cortex. Situated beneath the cerebral cortex are the subcortical structures of the forebrain, which include the thalamus, hypothalamus, the pituitary gland, and the limbic system.
