Formula for Calculating the Number of Pairwise Differences in a Population

To determine the total number of unique pairwise income differences that can be calculated within a population of size 'n', the following formula is used: 12n(nāˆ’1)\frac{1}{2}n(n-1). For instance, in a population of 6 individuals, there is a total of 15 unique differences to count.
