Gender Differences in Social Anxiety Disorder

Women with social anxiety disorder (SAD) often report a greater number of social fears than men and exhibit a more severe clinical presentation. They are also more likely to have major depressive disorder and other anxiety disorders alongside SAD. Men with SAD are more often than women to have alcohol or substance dependence, and a conduct disorder.
