Self-construal theory in SAD

According to the self-construal theory, individuals differ in how they define themselves in two main ways. The independent self-construal is characterized by internal, stable traits that are distinct from others. The interdependent self-construal is based on one's relationships with others. Women tend to have a higher interdependent self-construal than men which may implicate higher anxiety in interpersonal relations and elevated presentation in anxiety disorders than men.
