Gender Differences in Treatment Response to Take Good Care Intervention

Findings have shown that the Take Good Care Intervention had strong impacts on knowledge and risk perception for all participants, and reveal reductions in alcohol use over time among female drinkers, but not male. Previous research has shown that females may respond more readily than males to some psychoeducational interventions, and may be less committed drinkers. Medically vulnerable males and females may have different safety concerns as well.
