Gene-Environment Interaction Example
An example of a gene-environment interaction is a child genetically predisposed to a difficult temperament who is raised in an optimal social environment. The positive environment enhances the child's neural connections, which in turn attenuates the difficult temperament, makes the body less prone to high blood pressure, and encourages the child to seek out similar social environments.
