Gross National Happiness (GNH)

Gross National Happiness (GNH) is a development philosophy and index used to measure the collective happiness and well-being of a population. Originating in Bhutan, GNH is based on four pillars: sustainable and equitable socio-economic development, environmental conservation, preservation and promotion of culture, and good governance. It serves as a holistic alternative to Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
