Results demonstrating improved cure rate

Important to conduct another larger follow up study in order to validate these results since they may not be entirely conclusive due to unknown confounders. A "national multicenter randomized study" is planned to be performed in Iraq with IVM. along since HCQ is being withdrawn as therapy according to WHO advice.

Important Considerations and Implications

- A majority of the COVID-19 virus in a person is killed in 2 days with ivermectin
- Avermectin --> Ivermectin
- When avermectin is converted into ivermectin. a double bond between two carbon atoms in a benzene ring becomes a single bond
- Ivermectin does not cause toxicity
- Ivermectin had no impact on ATPase
- In the viruses mentioned in the chart, they all have the same or similar characteristics as the coronavirus (enveloped, positive-sense, single stranded)
- Ivermectin is very potent and thus can inhibit RNA replication in both the positive and negative strand
