The Harry Potter series is a 7-book fantasy series written by British author J. K. Rowling. It centers around the adventures and coming-of-age experiences of the titular character, Harry Potter, and his friends and schoolmates, as he seeks to acquire the knowledge and skill necessary to defeat his ultimate nemesis, Lord Voldemort, a Dark Wizard who is obsessed with becoming immortal, as well as suppressing, even eliminating, non-magical people (Muggles) and their magical allies.
