Applications of Economic Models

Economic models have several key applications. They are fundamental tools for economists to understand economic mechanisms and analyze the impact of different variables. As pedagogical devices, they are used to teach students complex concepts, as exemplified by Irving Fisher's hydraulic model. Furthermore, models are practical instruments for governments, central banks, corporations, and trade unions, which use them to forecast economic conditions and guide policy decisions.
