Neurotoxoplasmosis is caused by a parasite that can cause neonatal infections. It is commonly transmitted through cats or meats. It is one of the most common causes of brain abscesses. it is caused by *Toxoplasma gondii*.

Neurocysticercosis is an infection caused by *Taenia solium* infecting the brain and spinal cord. It causes adult onset epilepsy.
