Short Answer

Identifying External Costs of Air Travel

An airline company operates flights from a city airport. For each additional flight it operates, the company incurs costs for fuel and crew salaries. The noise from each additional flight also causes a measurable decrease in the property values of homes in the surrounding neighborhood. Based on this scenario, identify the marginal external cost and explain why it is considered 'external'.
