Impact of Hyperlinks to Encourage Learners to Explore Websites
According to a 2018 study by Yao and Ho, when learners are on an educational website hosted by a highly respected institution, group, or individual, they are more likely to click on hyperlinks when additional cues are attached to them (p<.005). For every additional web page viewed under these circumstances, participants answered an average of .30 more questions correctly (95% CI above zero) when asked open ended questions about information they were presented on web pages.
