Industry in Erikson's Theory

In Erikson's fourth stage of psychosocial development, industry refers to a child's development of a sense of competence and accomplishment. This is achieved when children successfully compare themselves to their peers and recognize their abilities in areas such as schoolwork, sports, social activities, and family life.
