Input Scaling and Production Output

A farm grows crops using a combination of land and fertilizer. The farm manager wants to increase the total harvest. They are considering two plans: Plan A is to double the amount of fertilizer used on the existing plot of land. Plan B is to double the size of the plot of land and also double the amount of fertilizer used. Explain why Plan B is likely to result in a much larger increase in the total harvest compared to Plan A.
