Instructional aid is often called a teaching assistant. They are stationed in the classroom in which they assist the teacher. They help the teacher lead the classroom through activities as well as helping with clerical tasks.

Paraprofessionals are sometimes referred to under different titles though that does not mean that the job descriptions are the same.

Other Terms for Paraprofessional 

Interventionalist focus on behavioral and academic issues at a school. They observe the student and come up with a plan to help reduce distractions and improve behavior and studies. Interventionalist are also able to take a student out of class to focus on specific academic problems as well as behavioral issues. They may take the student out of the class to give them a mental break. The break may consist of a physical (walk, catch etc.) or mental (card/board game) activity.
