Internal Conflict for Students with ADHD

This cultural distrust places students with ADHD in a difficult position—while medication can significantly improve focus, organization, and academic performance, they may feel conflicted about relying on it in an environment that questions its validity. The result is an internal tension between wanting to succeed academically and fearing that treatment use will be perceived as an unfair advantage, a sign of weakness, or a mark of personal inadequacy.
