Internal Inspection Before the Owner Walkthrough

Before the owner arrives for the formal walkthrough, the contractor and lead technician should inspect the finished work together while the crew is still available to make corrections. This internal pass helps catch obvious issues early, keeps the owner’s punch list shorter, and reduces the chance that simple defects are discovered first by the client. Typical items to verify include correct circuit directory labels, installed device covers, straight receptacles and switches, and proper operation of switched lighting and other controlled loads. A cleaner handoff presents the project as complete and helps the closeout move more quickly.
