International Pattern of QE-Induced Debt Maturity Shortening

The transformation of government debt maturity, where long-term liabilities are effectively replaced by short-term central bank reserves due to quantitative easing, is not a phenomenon exclusive to the United Kingdom. This same pattern of shortening debt maturity has been observed in many other countries that have implemented large-scale asset purchase programs.
