Interplay of Racism and Psychosurgery in the late 1960s-1970s

Often the rhetoric about psychosurgery being a possibly cure for "violent impulses" was used in tandem with racially coded language about these impulses being assumed to be more prevalent in populations of racially marginalized individuals in urban centers. Often this assumption used riots by organizations such as the Black Panther Party occurring in predominantly Black cities and neighborhoods as examples.
