Case Study

Interpreting a Study on Early Development

A longitudinal study follows two groups of children from similar socioeconomic backgrounds. Group A is raised in homes with a high number of books, frequent parent-child conversations about a wide range of topics, and access to educational toys. Group B is raised in homes with significantly fewer of these resources. At age 10, the children in Group A, on average, score higher on standardized intelligence tests. Based on the theory that environment shapes intelligence, what is the most likely conclusion to draw from this study, and why?
