Short Answer

Interpreting Divergent Experimental Results

An experiment provided randomly selected small-business owners with cash grants. In the original study conducted in Sri Lanka, businesses that received grants showed a large increase in profits. However, when the experiment was replicated in a different country, the grants had no significant effect on profits. Assuming both experiments were conducted correctly, provide two distinct and plausible economic reasons that could explain why the results in the second country were different.
