Job Satisfaction: Financial Rewards
Contrary to common assumptions, the level of pay an employee receives shows only a weak correlation with their job satisfaction. Research suggests this is because individuals tend to adapt to higher salary levels over time. Once an employee adjusts to a higher pay grade, it no longer provides the same degree of satisfaction that it did initially.
