John Nash's Struggle with Mental Illness

For a large portion of his life, John Nash battled a severe mental illness that necessitated hospitalization. Beginning in 1959, he suffered from schizophrenia, which caused hallucinations. After a period he described as '25 years of partially deluded thinking,' he was able to make a recovery and returned to his work in teaching and research at Princeton University.
