Keynes's 1930 Prediction on Technological Progress and Leisure

In his 1930 essay 'Economic Possibilities for our Grandchildren,' John Maynard Keynes theorized that over the next century, technological progress would increase societal wealth eightfold. He predicted this would solve the 'economic problem'—the basic struggle for subsistence—and enable people to satisfy their material needs by working only about 15 hours per week.
