Labour Market Flows: Match Creation and Destruction

The labour market is a dynamic system with continuous flows. Match creation occurs when an unemployed worker and a firm with a job vacancy are mutually satisfied with the employment terms, resulting in the worker joining the pool of employed individuals and the vacancy becoming a filled job. Conversely, match destruction happens when the employment contract ends. After a match is destroyed, the worker and firm typically return to the unemployment and vacancy pools, respectively, to begin the search process for a new partner again.
