Laurie Rudman

Laurie Rudman is a social psychologist known for her research on gender stereotypes and the social consequences of violating gender role expectations. Her 1998 study highlighted how women face a "double bind" in the workplace, where self-promotion can lead to being viewed as competent but also result in social penalization for violating expectations of modesty.
